Fresh off the delivery today from Yamato Toys is my Lady Dragon Statue! I’m fully stocked with my own statue and it’s ready to go out. I will be sending invoices tonight to all that have pre-ordered. I tell you, it is a very strange feeling to stock up on my own statue. But I truly believe this is the best inventory I have so far=).
First impression of the statue from the factory is that the face is incredible! I don’t know how they are able to paint so intricately on such a small area. But you know, Yamato does have a reputation for great face painting on their Fantasy Figure Gallery line of statues. So I am very glad to part of that line. The rest of the body is good too. Some seam areas are not as cleanly painted, but you find that in all other 1:6 scale resin productions. Overall, it exceeded my expectations. I love it! And I hope you will too.
One step closer to getting my Lady Dragon resin kits done! Here is the latest progress on the casting of my statue. All we need are the molds for the dress and it’s pretty much there. Once all the molds are made, resin kits will be made available for sale. I’m thinking of an edition of 100. Not sure yet, I’ll have to see what kind of demand I get from this. I know many of you have expressed interest in this and subscribers will get a first shot at it. Okay, I might be jumping ahead now, but I’m just so excited about this! Those who have followed my progress on creating this statue knows how difficult of a process it has been. But heck, why do anything that is easy! I always believe that anything easy is not worth doing. Anyhow, I’ll document the process of creating a statue from start to finish for anyone who is interested in doing the same. More on that later.
Once the Lady Dragon resin kits are available sale, I’ll get back to working on the Red Assassin statue. Though I’m thinking about doing a Lady Dragon bust. I have this image in my mind that I can’t shake. The guys at Yamato Toys are telling me that bust are not popular, I have to agree, but then I’m not doing this to have sales, I’m doing this because it’s part of my dream!
Hope to have more good news for you soon!
The new Horn Dress for my Lady Dragon statue has arrived, and it fits her perfectly! I’m extremely excited to finally get this outputted. The dress stays in place by hooking onto her neck, and everything below just hugs to the body. This new dress is much thicker so it does not have the issue that I had with the old design. The dress you see here is unpainted.
Please check back soon as I will have more information on this statue and her release shortly. There’s been a change in the production of my Lady Dragon statue. Instead of making a pre-painted statue, I will be releasing this as resin kit first. I’ll keep you posted on this. Check back soon. -Wei
Got an update on my Lady Dragon statue from the factory. They are in the process of creating a paint master. Their painting deviates from what I had originally came up with, but I like what they are doing. Check out the bronze finish that they have created for the base and dragon.
The base looks great with that bronze finish. The dragon (or serpent) looks a lot meaner with this finish; as opposed to the red that I had before. It is definitely going into a different direction, but I like it. The Lady Dragon figure is still in the painting process so I will update that at a later date. With this bronze finish on the base and dragon, I think it’ll create good contrast to the softer and sexier feminine form on the Lady Dragon herself.
Hopefully I will get more progress on the figure soon so I can show you guys how sexy she is looking. The figure itself has a slightly different color scheme now, but it looks promising.
